What Documents Do You Need to Apply to a University in Albania?

Most application delays are not about grades, they are about paperwork: a document that was not translated correctly, or not legalised in the right way. Here is what to prepare, and where people usually go wrong.

The core documents

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent (for bachelor applicants), or bachelor's degree certificate (for master's applicants)
  • Academic transcripts showing your grades/GPA
  • A valid passport with several months of remaining validity
  • Passport-style photos
  • Proof of English proficiency, where the programme requires it (this varies by programme, so check the specific requirement rather than assuming one standard applies)
  • A motivation letter or statement, for some programmes

Where people get stuck: legalisation and translation

A diploma issued in your home country usually cannot be submitted as-is. Depending on your country, it may need an apostille (if your country is part of the Hague Apostille Convention) or a different legalisation process through your foreign ministry and the relevant embassy. On top of that, documents not already in English or Albanian typically need a certified translation.

This step varies significantly by country, and doing it incorrectly is one of the most common reasons an application gets delayed rather than rejected outright. It is worth confirming the exact process for your country before you submit anything.

What we actually help with

This is one of the main reasons students choose to apply through an adviser rather than alone: we check your documents against the specific programme's requirements before submission, and flag anything that is missing or needs legalisation, so you are not finding out after a delay.

If you want a document readiness check for your specific situation, our team can review what you already have and tell you exactly what is still missing.
