India is one of the markets we actively support, which means we have specific, current knowledge of the document and process requirements Indian applicants face, not a generic international student guide with "India" added to the title.
Documents Indian students should prepare early
- Secondary school or bachelor's certificates and transcripts, matched to the level you are applying for
- Passport with sufficient remaining validity
- Apostille or equivalent legalisation for academic documents, as India is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, which affects how your documents need to be certified
- English proficiency evidence appropriate to your target programme
What tends to catch Indian applicants off guard
The most common delay is not the visa itself, it is realising too late that a document needs apostille certification through the correct Indian authority before it can be used abroad. Starting this early, ideally as soon as you have a target programme in mind, avoids most delays we see.
Where to go deeper
For the full country-specific breakdown, including accepted qualifications and the application journey, see our dedicated India admissions guide. This post is a starting point; that page is kept current as the primary reference.
If you are an Indian student ready to check your eligibility, our team can review your academic background and tell you honestly what options exist.
